Using Data and Collaboration to Understand and Communicate the 2023 Work of the T.D. Jakes Foundation
UPD Consulting guided TDJF through a comprehensive process to gather and present information that communicated its 2023 work, its tangible results and reach, and its impact through the stories and insights of grantees and community members.
UPD facilitated internal sessions to identify key data stories to tell TDJF’s work, define metrics and data sources to communicate impact, develop data gathering tools such as surveys and listening session facilitation guides, and graphic design of an Impact Report that reflected the essence of TDJF.

Reflect & Plan
Gained an understanding of the breadth of TDJF’s activities for 2023 and identify the data available and needed to understand the impact of the activities.
Gather & Analyze
Deployed and analyzed information from surveys, listening sessions, and document reviews to identify the outcomes and impact of TDJF’s 2023 work.
Collaborate & Create
Translated the information gathered into the stories that show the breadth and depth of TDJF’s work. Work with TDJF to identify the photographs that will complement the quantitative and qualitative data and bring the data stories to life.

Developed a communications plan to ensure that TDJF partners ranging from internal staff to community members to funders can understand the gravity of TDJF’s work.
Communicating the outcomes and impact of TDJF for business development, program expansion, and storytelling.

At the end of the engagement with UPD, TDJF had a 2023 Impact Report that reflected its new branding, new leadership and staff, quantitative and qualitative information about key programs and initiatives, and an introduction to their next phase. TDJF was able to introduce past, present, and future partners to its work starting at the 2024 International Leadership Summit.
Paired with an Impact Report Communications Plan and Data Gathering Resource Guide developed by UPD, TDJF has tools and processes to gather data consistently and communicate its impact with philanthropic, programmatic, and community partners, grantees, TDJF advocates, internal staff and board members, and members of the general public.
