UPD Consulting worked with the T.D. Jakes Foundation (TDJF) to articulate its ambitions and goals to refine and scale its investment strategy.
We facilitated a comprehensive human-centered design strategy to gather input from external and internal stakeholders to inform TDJF’s first ever strategic plan.
Using organizational data and insights, UPD assessed the current state of TDJF and guided leaders in mapping a vision for its future. UPD created organizational statements (i.e., vision, mission, values) to better capture the story of TDJF’s trajectory, supported revamping of investment areas to align with its mission, and crafted key performance indicators to measure progress on time-bound business strategies.

At the end of the engagement, UPD delivered not only a document but a process to support TDJF in its efforts to strengthen and scale its impact on workforce development, economic mobility, and wraparound service delivery for historically neglected communities.

As a result of the engagement with UPD, TDJF has refined its investment pillars to focus on high-impact opportunities where it can leverage its resources to best serve its audiences.
Clarity.
The plan has allowed TDJF and its staff to clearly articulate its mission, goals, and path forward for internal and external purposes.
Growth Plan.
UPD provided a business strategy to guide TDJF’s efforts as it expands from Dallas into other cities.
Evaluation.
UPD embedded performance management in the strategic plan and other deliverables to ensure TDJF monitors and evaluates its progress so it can adjust as needed to accomplish the metrics.
